a poorly imagined childhood

a poorly imagined childhood

I have become interested in the idea of what my childhood might have been like if I had grown up in what is now my home, Hong Kong, instead of Christchurch, New Zealand. What would my memories be? What would be the “real” ones, and what would be the culturally enforced ones? This body of work will, I hope, explore this and, hopefully, develop ideas about sense of place and identity. What is here is a small sample of what is growing into a multi part collaborative project.
